On one email account, on one machine, Thunderbird will not display Sent email. Other accounts on this machine are fine. This account on other machines behaves fine.

The OS is Windows 10 The current version of Thunderbird is 78.3.1 (32-bit) This problem continues through updates. It is an IMAP account. I can see the Sent folder. If I compact the folder it gets restored some times and I can open sent msgs. Repairing the folder seems to have no effect.

If I found the file that is this folder and deleted it would Thunderbird recreate this folder, and its contents?

Any help is appreciated.

  • Select 'Other' and choose Sent on imap account name
  • Select 'Synchronisation & Storage' for imap account
  • Select checkbox 'keep messages in all folders etc.....'
  • Click on 'Advanced..' button
  • Make sure all the checkboxes are selected for folders which you want to download full copies. Make sure 'Sent' has been selected.

First, thanks for the suggestion. I followed all the steps but no joy. The thing to note is that When I select Advanced, the Sent selection is grayed. I can check it, and I did, and completed the rest of the steps. However, after restarting ThunderBird nothing was changed.

Before you do anything. Access the webmail account to see the server 'Sent' folder. Is it actually called 'Sent'or perhaps 'Sent Mail' or similar ?

Do you see the same identical emails in that webmail Sent folder as you currently see in Thunderbird ? Is the server/webmail 'Sent' folder more accurate or are there some emails in the Thunderbird 'Sent' folder that are not on the server ?

I just need to know if you have potential 'Sent 'emails only visible in Thunderbird.

The webmail title is simply, Sent.
