Hello!

I tried to install Thunderbird setup 78.5.1. Setup asks to reboot the computer to complete a previous uninstall of Thunderbird , but after reboot and starting setup again, the same reboot message comes. This happens many times, reboot does not help.

I had earlier some older version of Thunderbird, but it is removed with Windows Control panel.

How can I uninstall previous version complete?`

Chosen solution

Your computer would not need to be rebooted just to install Thunderbird.

It sounds like your computer did an OS update at same time as installing Thunderbird and has got confused.

Remove the installation of Thunderbird from here:

  • C:\Program Files(86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\

Access 'Program Files (x86)' Delete 'Mozilla Thunderbird' folder Also make sure it has not been installed here:

  • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\

Empty the computer 'Recycling Bin'

Get a fresh download from here and reinstall. https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/all/

Helou! Many thanks, Toad-Hall, it was the solution! OS updating was not the reason, but removing Thunderbird folder, cleaning Recycle bin and downloading the setup file from recommended link did it! Best regards YH
