Hello. Before reinstalling windows i clicked sync on my firefox browser and closed it some moments after. After reinstalling windows i connected my account but my saved bookmarks, settings and passwords are gone. This is very annoying and it was the main reason i quit firefox (because it happened before). I have a backup on another drive but i can't boot into that drive and i tried with places.sqlite , key4.db , logins.json but i still can't get my settings. What can i do? I tried multiple sync and i even tried starting from that backup but all was for nothing because i don't have my settings anymore.

So where and how do i add it because i copied the backup to the current install and it didn't changed anything. And this sync function is ambiguous, i thought it's like in chrome, when you connect the account it automatically restores all your data. :(

So i had to get all the files from my backup firefox and paste them into the directory where the new files were stored and that fixed my problem.

This browser needs a better way to store these settings, just connect the account and the settings should be restored just like chrome!

Sync is meant to share data between different systems/profiles. It is not meant as a backup.
