Mobile bookmarks no longer appear in the Bookmarks menu in version 129

I just noticed after an update today that the Mobile menu entry (with bookmarks from my mobile Firefox instances) no longer appears in the browser's Bookmarks menu. I can access them from the bookmark manager, but this change seems extraordinarily stupid and arbitrary and is a definite step backwards.

Chosen solution

You can drag the Bookmarks Menu button Bookmark Menu icon (star on tray) that shows the bookmarks in a drop-down list and drag the Library button that gives access to recent bookmarks and history from the Customize palette to the Navigation Toolbar. The Bookmarks Menu button has a "View bookmarks sidebar" menu item.

See "How do I add the Bookmarks Menu button to the toolbar?"

Note that the sidebar also can show the mobile bookmarks under bookmarks.

The chosen solution does not address the issue. Do you have screen shots on how to perform your solution, what library button? Per your instructions it's not working on my FF ver129. I prefer the bookmarks in the file menu not a sidebar. This is one of the more ignorant moves in recent memory by the FF developers.

You may not need the Library (bookshelf) button in the Navigation Toolbar as this only gives access to recent bookmarks and recent history.

The Bookmarks menu in the Menu bar no longer includes the mobile bookmarks, so you need the use other ways to view/access them.

Hi Jeff,

Here's what you can do:

  1. Open Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks
  2. In the left hand nav, select and drag the Mobile entry (at the bottom in my case) over the Bookmarks menu.
  3. You can position the Mobile entry just underneath the item separator, above any other menu bookmarks (or really whereever you like EXCEPT above the separator where Mobile used to be because reasons).

Hope that helps.

Also this is the worst "formatting" editor in the history of editors.

Thank you John Francis greatly appreciated, it appears to have worked for the Windows laptop, now to see WTF happens with the mobile devices.

John Francis, I could not agree with you more on your follow-up comment on IDITOIC CHANGES! I'm giving Brave a test drive as Mozilla and Firefox appear to be catering to idiots and morons of the internet age or the younger and dumber crowd.

It's been a nice ride, but for now it's over. Been with FF before the release of ver 2. Now it's time to look for something anew. Seems Mozilla and the FF developers have gone the way of Apple, Microsoft & Google tripping over themselves to make what was one a decent stable product to conform to idiots and morons with more useless garbage or removing long standing features. Funny how the ver 129 release notes made no mention of removing mobile bookmarks. Firefox extensions have become a useless farce, no wonder 3rd party developers are leaving and no longer supporting what were once great extensions. Time to explore Mullvad and Brave, and to retire Mozilla & FF to the island of useless software.

Just a follow up, as of 130, it looks like the Mobile bookmark menu item is back in its original place.

Thanks for undoing that.
