I opened Thunderbird this morning and all my email contacts are missing from my address book! How can I restore them? I do a profile backup every night at 9:30pm. Are my contacts in this profile? If so, how can I restore my address books? I am in a panic! I don't understand how this could happen. Please help!

More info. All my messages are intact. Only my contacts are missing. I must have done something to delete them but I don't know what. I only need to restore my contacts. In my address book, all my lists are still showing but they are all empty.

UPDATE!!

FOLKS! You're not going to believe this! I walked away from my PC for about 30 minutes after I started this additional info post to pace back and forth while I pulled my hair out. I sat back down to finish composing this and as an afterthought, went back to Thunderbird and ALL my contacts are now visible!! Am I losing my mind?

Whatever, I'm a happy boy! If I were a drinking man, I would go have a great big stiff shot right about now!

Life is good. :) Thanks for the good news. Also, doing a backup every night is excellent advice to everyone. And if that addressbook had been lost, you could have easily imported in the the tools>import>import a file, and then located the abook.sqlite file in the backed up profile. TIP: If you've never tested one of the backups, I suggest doing so. It is not unusual here to have users post that their backup wouldn't work.

Thanks David. For anyone curious, I use GoodSync to backup my profile folder automatically at 9:30pm each night.

Thanks, but do consider testing it, if you haven't already.
