Why will Firefox not open windows when I click for them?

When ever I click to open something from firefox the window that pops up will not load. For example, to send an email from my collage email address I have to click 'Compose' and then a new window will pop up, but nothing will load in that window. I have made sure all my pop-up blockers are off so I don't think this is the problem.

edt: I also made sure that the pref dom.storage.enabled is set to true on the about:config page. I even made it false and set it back to true to see if it would help, still no go.

Make sure that the pref dom.storage.enabled is set to true on the about:config page.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
