Trying to move links from Firefox in old computer to new computer
I really need help here folks. I have just bought a new laptop and I'm in the process of moving information from the old one to the new one. I have been using Firefox 3.6.13 on my old laptop for ages and have installed it on the new laptop as well. My problem is this. Over the years I have created about 8 folders on the top bar of Firefox containing links to web pages. I thought I could move these across by copying to a word doc and transferring to a flash drive then copy and paste into the new folders. But it won't work. Given that there could be close on 600 links in these folders is there any way of transferring them across to the new computer other than by typing them in one at a time? Thanks for any suggestions. My old laptop was using XP and the new one is Windows 7 if that makes any difference.

If you just want the bookmarks, use the process in the following link to copy them to a file that you can then restore on the new computer - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Backing+up+and+restoring+bookmarks
You can copy more than just the bookmarks, for details of the files you can copy see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile
There are some add-ons and utilities that can make this process easier. The first one is the FEBE add-on (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/ad.../febe/) which can be used to copy a profile. Another option is the free MozBackup utility (http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/)
