When printing a page off the internet, say a list of houses for sale with pictures to the side of the text or a page with text and logos/trade marks, the text prints OK, but pictures, images & logos are upside down or reversed. If I open the same web page in Internet Explorer, the print (on the same printer HP deskjet 990cxi) is perfect. What is the problem.

Try the reset described here - you need to reset all the prefs for that printer:
