I live in the uk and when i use the search box it defaults to u.s sites
I Live in the U.K when i use the firefox search box it defaults to U.S sites. for example if i use the search box and then click 'shopping' results are given in dollars. I have tried everything and even tried to edit the search plugin XML file and nothing works. I've never had this problem on previous versions of firefox and can believe that Mozilla would have overlooked something so basic.
Can anyone help as this is very frustrating when i am so used to using this search box. If not i will have to go bach to I.E.....

Please do the following:
- In the location bar, type about:config and hit Enter.
- In the filter at the top, type: keyword.URL
- Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=
The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.
To reset your home page, do the following.
- Go to http://www.google.co.uk/
- Click the orange Firefox button and go to Options | Options | General.
- Make sure it says "Show My Homepage" in the first dropdown menu.
- Click the button called "Use Current Pages" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.
Incidentally, your Java installation is out of date. To update, open Windows Control Panel, find Java and click the Update tab. Don't forget to remove the checkmark from the Yahoo Toolbar, otherwise you'll get that too. See screenshot.
sorry if i sound dim but where is the location bar?
The location bar is where you normally type in a search term. See screenshot.
