FireFox says something is preventing it from updating. When I try manual update, SuperAntiSpyware blocks it. What is this?

I have been getting messages that "something if preventing FireFox from updating". I tried to download and install the latest version, but Superantispyware flagged the file as containing a trojan.

You already have the latest Firefox 5.0.1 version according to the user agent.

Well that's just fine, but why am I getting the messages? And why did Superantispyware identify the update (that I apparently don't need) as containing a Trojan? I am staying with Chrome until I can figure this out. I don't like warnings like the one I cited above when they are terse and useless.

Thanks so much for your reply though. If anyone else has a clue, let me know what's up.

If files already have been downloaded then remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder.
You can delete active-update.xml and updates.xml as well if present.
