One of my system utilities informed me that it had "reduced program priority" for firefox and indeed my firefox is now running very slowly. How to fix this?

It also "raised program priority" on chrome browser, and this is now fast but it is unstable for logins to LinkedIn which i need to use. I really prefer firefox since it supports my norton toolbar.

You do not mention what the system utility is. I use XP and do not recollect any standard system utility that does this.

You have security software with toolbars from AVG, Netcraft and Norton/Symantec. This is not a good idea.

As John99 says this is not the behavior of any normal system utility

What would you recommend? Should I uninstall one or more of these? --Kevin

Thanks mha007. Restarting without addons made my firefox faster. The one toolbar i really want to keep is the norton toolbar with all my passwords encrypted. I would be ok without the rest. When I try to manage my addons, i can't seem to do this. How may i proceed?

The Norton toolbar has released patch recently you may need that if you are having a problem with that toolbar and have upgraded to Firefox 6.

Is that what you are trying to do enable the Norton Toolbar, or are you having other problems also.
