How can I get FireFox to connect?
I use FireFox 7.0.1 on my desktop, laptop and notebook. I have no problem on the desktop. On the net book, running ms 7 it opens, attempts to connect, opens a new tab and the reports Unable to connect. Net book works with IE. and Thunderbird, therefore not a network problem. How do I solve? Same result with server at cox.net, yahoo.com, three banks, Google.com

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs. You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy" if the default "Use the system proxy settings" setting doesn't work.
