This is probably nothing to worry about.
Although I do not use AVG myself I imagine you can probably set AVG to stop issuing such warnings. The memory usage is probably not considered high. How much RAM do you have installed on your computer ?
(Remember 1GB is equivalent to something in the order of 1000MB)

This is happening when you first launch the Firefox browser now... My home page is Google and this message comes up about 300 times a day... seriously. It is making me nutso and frustrated! Don't need the stress...
FYI - I have 12GB of installed RAM
You hardly seem to be short of RAM, so it may be that AVG is being a bit over cautious in issuing warnings.
If you disable the option "Disable AVG Advisor performance notifications" in the advanced setting tab, you shouldn't see this again.
Done that and it's still giving the error. Thanks for the kind effort. I gave it up for now until Firefox and/or AVG comes up with a proper solution. I moved to chrome..
You would do better seeking advice from AVG. Your memory usage is not that remarkable. If you are getting a warning at start-up the problem is probably with AVG.
If you are using the free version of AVG I would sooner recommend uninstalling AVG and getting antivirus protection from smarter people. MS has a nice one. I see this kind of behavior from an antivirus company as indicative of their competence.
Sure, if you want to sign up for an ineffective antivirus. Av-test.org gives it a 2/6 on protection, while AVG free has a 5.5/6--the highest for free products.
