firefox icon has yellow & blue sheild onit and requests to alter pc, on approval nothing happens. sheil remains
Both the desktop and lower task bar Mozilla icons have a shield across the right lower half. When I click on the icon, my computer asks me for permission for Firefox to change the PC i agree, the Firefox opens but the shield does not go away. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, still no change. I am concerned that it may cause problems

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
- Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
- "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.
