I am trying to delete browsing history. It keeps telling me to go to the firefox window and click the firefox button. However, when I bring up internet to defaults to comcast (my internet provider) and there is no firefox button

Click View > Toolbars > UNcheck Menu Bar, to get the Firefox button(the orange button).

as you can see in the above article you can clean recent history and without have enable the orange button, from TOOLS > CLEAR RECENT HISTORY.

You can also clear history via the side bar (View > Sidebar > history; Ctrl+H) on in the History Manager (Library; History > Show All History; Ctrl+Shift+H)
