when i try to check my plugins are up to date I am linked immediately to a download java page and can't access the list of plugins

When I am in ad-ons manager and I click "check to see if my plugins are up-to-date" I am linked to the list of plugins them immediately sent to a download java page. I have uninstalled java because of the ongoing security issues
