Is there an equivalent to IE right click "save target as" option in Firefox?

I would like to be able to save images from websites without having to open them first. I'm looking for an equivalent to the IE right click "save target as" option. If I use the "save link as" option it offers to do just that - save as a Firefox HTML document, rather than a JPEG.

What happens when you open such a saved image?

Does Firefox save an image if you use "Save Link As" or is this a real HTML file?

Do you get a page with only the image if you open the image in Firefox or do you get a web page that shows the image?

It is possible that the server doesn't link directly to the image, but links to a page that has this image.

It is also possible that the server doesn't respond well to this request and sends an HTML page instead of an image. We have seen reports that Photobucket does this.
