In the last few weeks with the update to FF 28.0 many websites I visit like LinkedIn and Facebook are spawning redirects to other pages. For a while it was to various CBS programs and in other cases just ads. While I have that feature now blocked it still spawns a blank page asking me if I want to allow it. What changed in FF to suddenly enable others to do this?

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
