I'm trying to get my wife's firefox browsers synced - mainly her laptop and phone. I've got the phone signed in and working fine, but on her laptop there's no option to sign in and the sync option is missing from the settings menu?

It seems to be profile related as if I create a new blank profile the option is there - but if I copy all the data from her original profile the option goes missing again. Short of manually copying all her data over, I'm a bit stuck for what to do next - any ideas?

I've tried disabling any addons, restarting in troubleshooting mode etc. I've also looked at all the other solutions I can find from here (mostly related to group policies, there's nothing enabled on this) and everything seems as it should be.

I haven't tried reinstalling, but it seems like this is a profile issue rather than an installation issue?

It's a Win 11 laptop (upgraded from W10 if that makes a difference), FF version is 135.0 64 bit.

Observed since update 135 (from 134). Also no custom userChrome.css file is used.

How to keep appreance consistent / compact / normal (in all window-sizes)?

Preferably without a custom userCrhome.css file. I looked through all results on urlbar.quicksuggest in about:config but couldn't figure out any helpful setting.

NOTE to developers. in SETTINGS is a section called "Language and Appearance." It should be here. The Dark Mode setting should be there - it would make hundreds of people happy.

Hallo, ich habe im Zusammenhang mit dem Übergang zu Windows 11 das Office 2024 Pro installiert. Dabei haben sich zwei Probleme gezeigt: 1. Für das versenden von Links mit Emails habe ich in den Einstellungen "Allgemein" unter "Anwendungen.mailto" das Programm OUTLOOK (classic) in beiden von mir genutzten lokalen Konten zugewiesen. In einem der beiden Konten wird im Gegensatz zu dieser Einstellung immer zu der Aufforderung zur Verbindungsaufnahme mit einem Microsoft-Konto verlangt. Zu einer Anzeige des Outlook-Sendefensters kommt es nicht. Welche Ursache kann es dafür geben und wie kann ich das Problem beheben? 2. Wie in dem beigefügten Bild dargestellt, erscheint bei der Nutzung der mailto-Funktion in beiden lokalen Konten diese Fehlermeldung, die bei normaler Nutzung von Outlook nicht auftritt. Meine Internet-Recherche zu dieser Fehlermeldung hat leider nichts greifbares ergeben. Könnt Ihr mir weiterhelfen? MfG, R. Ziegler.

I usually run Thunderbird updates on user 1, but this time I ran the it (to 128.7.0esr) on account 2, and I can no longer launch it on user 2. (Note: Neither user is an admin account.)

Steps: 1. On user 2, launch Thunderbird. 2. Get the dialog that there's an update to 128.7.0esr. 3. Click the Restart to update button. 4. Get the dialog that there's an update to 128.7.0esr. 5. Click the Restart to update button. 6. Get the dialog to enter admin ID and password for installing the Thunderbird helper. 7. Enter the admin ID and password and click OK. 8. Get a (surprise) dialog to authorize Thunderbird to discover my devices. 9. I choose to deny.

Expected result: Thunderbird relaunches, now with 128.7.0esr. Actual result: Get the dialog to enter admin ID and password for installing the Thunderbird helper.

10. Log off user 2 and log on to user 1. 11. Download 128.7.0esr from the Mozilla website. 12. Check the hash. 13. Install, choosing to replace the old Thunderbird in the shared Applications folder. 14. System Settings, About, System report, Applications 15. Verify the signature is signed by Mozilla 16. Launch Thunderbird

Expected and actual result: Thunderbird launches and I can use it normally.

17. Log out of user 1 and log into user 2. 18. Launch Thunderbird

Expected result: Thunderbird launches and I can use it normally. Actual result: Get the dialog to enter admin ID and password for installing the Thunderbird helper.

I'm guessing there's some manner of residual file that's preventing Thunderbird from launching on user 2. I've verified Thunderbird is in the system's Application folder and not in user 1's files.

How do I clear the pending install from user 2 so that Thunderbird will launch for user 2?

I'm using Canvas, an educational portal. Every time I click on a PDF, FireFox automatically downloads the PDF to the downloads directory. When I'm not using Canvas, FireFox asks me where to save the PDF. This behavior is very annoying, as I have to perform extra steps to make sure that files are saved to the correct directory.

What setting do I need to check to force FireFox to require all downloads to ask where to be saved.
