automatic close after downloading music file link
How can I set Firefox to close after downloading a link to a music file? I use a keyboard with hot keys and have programed them to open radio stations with Media Player. IE closes after the file link is established if I have that program as my default browser. How can I get Firefox to do the same thing?

Hi, could you program one of the hotkeys to execute: Kill jobid where the jobid was the name of the Firefox program task? Or run a bash script? http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20090815113819149
I think this would be better;
Auto Shutdown {web link} Executes a command when all downloads are finished. (supports DownThemAll!)
.
edit: cleaned up link

Where do I type that, what is an SSH, and what should I do if I run Windows and would not be caught dead with an Apple product?

i don't understand the solution.. i'm also having this problem, everything i download is just disappearing when the download finishes. it also doesn't give me the option of choosing where to save the file so this is very irritating, please someone post an helpful comment about it :(
I have downloaded Auto Shutdown NG and it is sitting up there in the upper right corner. But I keep being reminded that I must set up a command for it to work. What command, and were do I set it up?

Auto Shutdown: were do I set it up?
Open the add-ons manager <Control><Shift> A Go to the Auto Shutdown and press Options.
