Was perusing an old thread from 2013 looking for a way to get site-specific download locations. One reply recommended making sure that browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite in about:config was set to true but the setting does not appear to be in Firefox 32.0.3 to which I just upgraded. Is it now gone?

Hello UThant, yes not exist anymore, i think it is gone before many versions, 26 or 25 if i remember correct? You can create the preference.

"The last used directory for the website (host) serving the file for download will be preselected in the file picker. If no download directory for the current website has been stored, browser.download.lastDir will be used."

see more : https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Preferences/Preference_reference/browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite

thank you

You can disable the feature to remember a host based download directory by creating a new Boolean pref on the about:config page with the name browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite pref and set its value to false.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.

There are several programs that can auto-sort downloads using many options. Warning ! They do not work with download managers.
