I have 2 screens. My main laptop screen is 3200x1800 resolution while my secondary monitor is 1920 x 1080. Whenever i use Mozilla Firefox, no matter what screen, the text always seems too small. In general, everything seems downsized and more compact than usual. It happens on both screens. I know my screen resolution is correct on both monitors. Is there any way to optimize it or increase the size of everything to make it work on both of my screens and actually look good? On both Google Chrome and (regrettably) Internet Explorer, everything looks fine and is a comfortable size.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

You can set the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref on the about:config page to 1.0 as a start. You can adjust layout.css.devPixelsPerPx starting from 1.0 in 0.1 or 0.05 steps (1.1 or 0.9) to make icons show correctly.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Use an extension to adjust the text size in the user interface and the page zoom in the browser window.

Verify your zoom hasn't been adjusted, press Ctrl + 0 (Command + Option + Plus/Minus on an Apple keyboard) and see if that helps.
