I've recently noticed that I can't see thumbnail pics, nor pics in the item listing and the area where the item description info is located is blank.

I recently upgraded to OS X Yosemite on a MacBook Pro and am using Firefox 34.0.

I've attempted the following all without much success (sometimes the pics will reappear for awhile):

cleared cache and cookies,

have tried to reload with command, shift R

loaded Cookie Manager in Firefox

changed permission on Load Images, install Add-Ons and Open Pop-Up windows

have reset Firefox to default settings

So far - nothing brings up the data in the description field and sometimes I get the thumbnail pics but not the pics within the listing and then visa-versa - pics show in listings but no thumbnails pics.

This problem only happens to me while on ebay.com and haven't experienced it anywhere else.

Thx!

If you right click on the page and select "Page Info" a pop up will appear. Click on the Media Icon and make sure that images are allowed for the site to load.

I'm on a Mac, don't have 'Right Click' option on a MacBook Pro....at least that I'm aware of - am I missing something here?

I also went to Permissions and clicked "Allowed" to "Load Images" and nothing happened to fix the problem.

Can you offer anything else?

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

Missing icons can possibly supplied by a font that is downloaded from the server (@font-face) as you can probably see by little boxes that show the hex code of the characters.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

You can check the gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled pref on the about:config page and make sure that it is set to true (if necessary double-click the line to toggle its value).

If images are missing then check that you do not block images from some domains.

  • Tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar

Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"

Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images

  • Select the first image link and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list.
  • If an image in the list is grayed and "Block Images from..." has a checkmark then remove this checkmark to unblock images from this domain.

Make sure that you do not block (third-party) images, the permissions.default.image pref on the about:config page should be 1.

Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"

Note that these settings affect background images.

There are extensions like Adblock Plus (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block images and other content.
