Hello.

When opening/focusing the "Find in page" field (Cmd + F), my clipboard content is automatically pasted in the field. Is there any way to get rid of it? about:config? Plugin? Voodoo? I can't remember which version of Firefox introduced this behavior but today I can't stand it anymore, I hate this stuff.

Thank you.

Try this extension:

Other tweaks:
- Set whether opening the findbar fills it with the selected text or not
- Selecting text on a webpage immediately copies the selected text to the findbar and searches for it
-- When used together with "Highlight all by default", it will highlight all matches of the selected text, even if the findbar is closed.
-- Show the QuickFind bar (it will open in normal mode if "Always use normal Findbar" is enabled) when using selected text.

I've never seen Firefox automatically pasting content from the clipboard. I think that normally only text that is selected on the current page is pasted automatically if you open the Find bar. If nothing is selected currently then the find field should stay empty.

Thank you for the answer :)

You're right, that explains a lot. Still, do you know any way to disable this behavior? :(
