When I select Write or Reply normally a new window opens to compose a message. For no apparent reason when I chose Reply or Write nothing seemed to happen. Later I realized the usual window was minimized in the bar at the bottom. Clicking on the thunderbird icon shows the main window (inbox) and the New Message Window. Each window "highlights" when the cursor is over it but clicking on New Message Window just re-minimizes it. Clicking on the main window icon opens it as usual. The X to close the Write icon works to closes the window. Consequently I can not send any e-mails.

If reinstalling Thunderbird is required please send a link to the instructions.

Thank you very much. Version and System info below. Bud Hewitt Budh@optonline.net

Follow-up 9/3/15 I have since reinstalled two different versions of Thunderbird 38.2.0 and 36.0b1 neither corrected the problem.

I also restarted with all add-on disabled and this did not work.

No one else seems to have had this problem. Is it something other than Thunderbird? Can someone point me to other possible problems?

At this point my only solution is to use another e-mail which doesn't have the features I've come to rely on in Thunderbird especially the send-later and BirdieSync add-ons.

Another observation - 15 minutes after I posted the above section of this response I noted that one document in my draft folder as a "send later" document whose send time came up actually went out as scheduled.

Thanks in advance for any help someone can provide or even suggestions for where else to look.
