FF hangs on new StartJuno.com page

The (dinosaur) ISP Juno from California just unveiled a new startup page, StartJuno.com.

It doesn't look too different from the previous version of startup page.

It appears to load as usual, but for the time being pops up a box asking to take the viewer on a tour of the page's features.

Whether or not one goes through the tour, which is pretty mundane, afterward the cursor goes to 'wait'.

FF doesn't go into build-up-HUGE-amounts-of-memory mode, but just stops responding.

This appears to be FF-exclusive. No such problems IE or Chrome.

Alternatively, clicking it just causes FF to go solid-white-screen with "(not responding)" in the title bar. dL

The halt comes as it is "transferring data from ...syn-api.com"

Hmmm. I checked the page, and had no problem. With and without the tour.

HOWEVER, each time the web page loaded, I got a notice from Firefox that it block the page from re-directing. When I allowed this, the same page reloaded,

Type about:preferences#advanced<enter> in the address bar. Turn on; Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page

Does not change my situation. Still freezes within seconds of loading. (IE is unaffected, and [fyi] the Juno app for years had IE (8) hardwired into it.

Did you change the setting from my last message?

Yep, twice. To and back. No effect. Still freezes. dL

I've called the big guys to help you. Good luck.

That was a week and a half ago. Never did see a note from 'em. The page does appear to work OK now, though.
