How can I stop address book from automatically adding new contacts
I have 2 address books: Personal and Collected that came with the program.
Emails I send to go into the collected address book.... no problem. BUT they ALSO go into the Personal Address book.... WHY? How can I stop that?

Really? I don't know how that can happen. The automated collection of outgoing addresses, AFAIK, supports only one nominated address book. You'd have to jump through hoops involving filter enhancements and then create a filter to do this deliberately.
But do check what is in the setting under Options for the destination for collected messages.
And you are looking at individual address books, not the new composite All Addresses book?
