Every time Firefox self-updates I have to go and reset my Search options. I do NOT use Yahoo, bing or any of the others, outside of Google. I don't care if others think it's a great thing or not. I do NOT like going in and changing back to Google only and deleting the other search engines. And even if you re-add them, why change my default, that *I* have set up, back to Yahoo?

Are you TRYING to be like M$ and dictate what YOU think we should do, regardless of our one personal configurations?

Please stop!!!!

I have 6 machines I have to take care of and I am tired of going in and changing my default search engines back, and deleting ALL but Google - again, do NOT care what others think of google or not. It's a personal opinion of which is better and I don't care what others think about it!

Thank you

Don't "delete" those search engines, but rather just un-check each one you don't want to see.

Firefox has the "built-in" search engines "locked" into Firefox program files [in the omni.ja file] to protect them from Malware changing them (a change as of Firefox 34.0.5). I think what may be happening is that when you delete them they are coming back with the next version update and that is what is resetting your preference from having Google as your own 'default'.

I prefer Google, too, and never had a Firefox update change my 'default' away from Google. The "built-in" search engines that I don't ever want to see - Twitter, Amazon, eBay, and Bing - are un-checked rather then getting deleted and I have no problem with Google staying my 'default' as I specified.

I'll give that a whirl. It would be GREAT if that fixes this annoying thing. :)
