My HP print screen comes up and I click print but another screen comes up after a long delay that has dimensions on it. I am told that it is Firefox screen due to changes in Firefox.. I need to get rid of it or speed it up.. I have to start print over and over and slowing down my printing.

Thank you for your response. Sorry for delay in my response. I gave up and deleted HP print and Fire fox.

Then reinstalled them. It cured the problem finally. I do not understand it. I was told that the final print screen was part of the upgraded Firefox. Now, I am not sure.

I hope this helps.

Hmm, could you describe the sequence of events? For example:

(1) How do you start the print job within Firefox?

  • Print button on the graphical menu, which shows Print Preview, then you click the Print button from there to call up the Print dialog, then you click OK to start printing
  • Click a Print button in the page that calls up the Print dialog, then you click OK to start printing
  • Press Ctrl+p to call up the Print dialog, then you click OK to start printing

(2) If you check before you click OK in the Print dialog: is the printer shown at the top a physical printer or a virtual printer? Virtual printers may capture the printout to PDF, XDF, or another file format and if you don't need that, you can skip a step by sending the printout straight to your physical printer.

(3) When does the HP screen appear? What is its purpose?

(4) On the screen with dimensions, is that different from Firefox's print preview screen?

That will help me get a better idea of what's going on.
