When I first use Firefox the very first webpage I go to will load up completely fine, but if I open another tab or just go to another page without opening any other tabs the new page will not open. It just stays there perpetually loading. If I force quite the program there a background process that keeps running and says I don't have access to stop it :/ The only way I can end those processes is to reboot my computer and then the whole things starts over again.

I did the whole refresh Firefox thing, that seemed to make no difference. I can't actually get it to load up in safe mode because it crashes and won't reopen when I do that. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and that didn't help. I tried reinstalling the 64bit version and that didn't help either. I don't have any addons. Not really sure what I can do at this point.

I take it the computer you used to post this is not the sick computer?

There are several possible reasons. First, what is your homepage?

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

You are correct the computer I am posting from isn't the computer having the issue, my problem child is a PC Desktop and I'm posting from a MacBook pro. I think you might be on the right track though with the solution because I did just install a new virus program on that computer called Sophos.

Unfortunately that link only gave me info for fixing the issue on a MAC which doesn't help in this case :(

Many web pages scan the browser and display that systems data.

Open that web page. At the top right press the Editing Tools button. At the bottom of this menu, select your system.
