I think when I tried to delete the emails in the Trash folder, somehow I ended up deleting the entire folder. I tried to make a new folder named "Trash" but was told that "A folder with that name already exists. Please enter a different name." However, it is not in my list of folders plus when I try to delete a message by sending it to Trash, nothing happens. Help! Thank you so much!

Thunderbird does not let you delete the Trash folder, so something else is happening. If you select an e-mail and press the delete button on your keyboard, nothing happens?

Are you using POP or IMAP?

If IMAP, right-click your account in the normal folder view of Thunderbird and choose Subscribe. In the folder list that shows, make sure that the Trash folder has a check-mark.

Or it may be that the account in Thunderbird has become corrupted, or the Thunderbird Profile has become corrupted.
