Didn't work today. Worked 5 days ago. Didn't use Thunderbird since until today.

Says "Login to server imap.mail.yahoo.com failed"

POP3 works

IMAP on other programs/apps (Tested with K-9 Mail on Android) works with the same settings.

Already using Yahoo's "App Password" feature

Also Gmail IMAP still works

And Yahoo IMAP doesn't work in Thunderbird both on my desktop and laptop

I have the similar result (problem) starting on same day. Thunderbird v52 says "Login to server imap.mail.yahoo.com failed". So then I successfully verified my yahoo email accounts and passwords were working okay when accessed through FF browser instead.

I hope this gets fixed. Perish the thought of permanently losing the use of my yahoo email accounts.

I really like all the Mozilla products, including Thunderbird 52.

I just experienced this problem today. Worked fine yesterday. Tried deleting and re-creating account, no help. I can access Yahoo mail using other email clients. Gmail and Hotmail accounts work fine,  ???

This happened to me today. What solved it was changing my incoming server from imap.mail.yahoo.com to imap.mail.att.net. Everything else remained the same (port 993; SSL/TLS; normal password). I was prompted for a password for the new server, which was the same as the old server.

I doubt that chaning to imap.mail.att.net would work for someone who is not using ATT or an affiliate for internet access. Any comments?

For some time now I had been getting Yahoo messages that I was using unsecure access i.e. Thunderbird. I ignored the warnings. Now it seems that Yahoo has blocked all access from Thunderbird, both IMAP and STMP, and has also removed the option on the Yahoo Mail Account Security page to remove the blocking of unsecure access. Other clients apparently are not experiencing this blocking.

It does work actually. Not sure why. Although yahoo is suppose to end their relationship with att so it might break soon.

Yes! I encounter the same problem and changed to server to

Incoming server: imap.mail.att.net SMTP server: smtp.mail.att.net

It is working now!

Thanks for the help!

Hello Airmail, Thanks & Regards

After perusing the Mozilla, bugzilla and Yahoo-care forums and reports, it appears that you can now leave incoming and stmp servers the same as before, and all should work again:

imap[dot]mail[dot]yahoo[dot]com

smtp[dot]mail[dot]yahoo[dot]com

There is no more need to switch to att server names.

even on beta 55 b I am still getting the clientbug SELECT ERROR FROM YAHOO imap email processing. says wrong state... I can see the account fine logging into yahoo and using their mail just not with TB... was looking for the TB beta 56 to contain command capitalizations for IMAP as per their discussion with yahoo dev.
