Dear Sir/Mad;

I have installed the fire fox recently on my PC. My OS is windows 7.0 64 bit. It has been installed on Drive C. But, when it starts, many files are appeared on my desktop that I think are related to temporary files. I removed them and start the mozila again and those were appeared again. How can I change the directory of these files?

Regards

The Firefox profile folder is currently located on your desktop.

You need to use the Profile Manager to create a new profile.

Do not click the "Choose Folder" button, but create the profile in the suggested location.

Note that you should never use "Choose Folder" to specify a folder that already contains files that do not belong to Firefox (i.e. only use "Choose Folder" to recover an orphaned profile that isn't listed in the Profile Manager).

You can remove the currently used profile in the Profile Manager, but make sure that you do not click the button to remove the files, but instead click "Don't remove files".

What are the names of those files?

Did you inadvertently create a new Profile and put it on the desktop rather than leaving it in the default location?

Dear Mad/Sir;

Thanks a lot for your reply. No, I did not create new profile. I have enclosed a print screen of my desk top to see the file types and their names. Please guide me to solve this problem.

Best regards

Hi, selecting to show hidden files on your PC, can sometimes cause issues like that.

Windows Explorer > Organize > Folder and search options (View tab), and in 'Hidden files and folders,' make sure 'Don't show hidden files folders or drives' is selected.
