How to delete offline messages locally but not on the server?
I recently found that Thunderbird is taking around 1.5GB of disk space to store the messages for offline use. I actually don't want them to be offline and I have turned off the option of saving the messages for offline usage. How am I supposed to delete the old messages that were stored offline. Can I just delete the directory '.thunderbird/<PROFILE-ID>/ImapMail/imap.gmail.com/[Gmail].sbd/' which seems to be having all the huge sized files?

- 1. in thunderbird, unsubscribe the gmail "All Mail" folder.
- 2. The contents of that directory can be deleted, yes.
Note, turning of download sync greatly reduces your capability to search with ctrl+K = search messages in Thunderbird.
