At present I have two email accounts and all new emails from both accounts go into my local inbox. I need to set up a new email account and I am unable to get the incoming emails to go into my local inbox. I have tried it with a gmail account and a yahoo account and both of these are imap.

Can anybody help please?

re :At present I have two email accounts and all new emails from both accounts go into my local inbox.

Pop mail accounts can be set up as 'Global Inbox' mail accounts. Pop downloads from server Inbox to pop mail account Inbox. There is no synchronising. Emails are stored on your computer. If set up correctly. you do not see individual mail accounts in Folder Pane, but instead you only see 'Local Folders' mail account which collects and displays all emails from those pop mail accounts.

Imap mail accounts are different, subscribed folders synchronise with server to offer a remote access to the server, so allowing you to see emails held on server. Therefore, it is not possible to set them up to use a Global Inbox.

They are displayed in the Folder Pane with their respective subscribed folders. However, you can use 'Unified' view. 'Menu icon' > 'Folders' > 'Unified'
