Good morning,

I have a local web site on my computer and have updated the hosts file to be able to use the site on 127.0.0.1

I can connect to this without any problem using Waterfox but not Firefox. I have already checked that there is no firewall problem and my internet security software - Comodo - is not blocking Firefox. I have tried in safe mode without any success. I have already gone through the suggestions given in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can

If I try to connect directly to "localhost", it connects, but my site requires the use of the correct url.

Is this a known problem ?

Other than the information that I have already given ...

I put the address into the address bar, firefox tries to connect via http, switches to https and gives the "unable to connect" page.

The address of the site is put into the hosts file and the local apache installation is setup accordingly. I have to say that this has been working fine for the last 6 years until I did the last update to 59.0.2 64bit Beforehand I was using Waterfox as it is a 64bit version.

Does this help ?

Other info, I have just downgraded to v58.0.2 and it has no problem. The connection works just fine. So this would appear to be a problem with v59.0.2

I called for more help. You are not the first to have problems like this after doing an upgrade.
