Unable to login using my email password
I am using the latest email password from my email provider, but this fails when using Thunderbird. Do I have a setup problem?

Open Tools/Options/Security/Passwords/Saved Passwords and look at the password for the account, incoming and outgoing. Is the old password listed? If it is, right-click it and Edit Password. Otherwise, do you have a 3rd-party password manager controlling TB passwords?
