Firefox won't open some pages that Google Chrome does, and doesn't show all my Hotmail message, that Google Chrome does

I use Firefox as my primary browser on both my Mac desktop and my android phone. There seems to be a problem with how Firefox works with other sites.

On my phone, when I go to my Hotmail inbox, it only shows half the emails that are in my inbox when I use my Mac, but when I access my emails on my phone using Google Chrome, they are all there.

On a couple of occasions, when trying to access a page on the Consumer Reports website, it wouldn't open. I called Consumer Reports and they said people were having problems when accessing their site through Firefox (And possibly Safari), but I should use Google Chrome. When I accessed the page through Google Chrome, it opened.

It seems the techs at Hotmail also mentioned issues using Firefox a while back, though I can't remember the issue.

Is Firefox aware of these issues, and addressing them? I can't find the version of Firefox I am using, but I think it updates automticalIy. I am not very tech savvy, so please give detailed instructions in layman's terms, if you have any for me.

Thanks,

Gordon

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-version?cache=no Did you update Firefox to the latest version 66.0.1 March 22, 2019

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to. You may also lose any settings for that website.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

Thank you for responding, but I believe I have Firefox set to delete cookies and clear cache whenever I close it, so I wouldn't think that is the issue. And are you suggesting that I always have to start Firefox in safe mode? I wouldn't even know how to do that on my phone--not even sure how to on my Mac desktop.

Also your response doesn't answer the question of why tech support at Consumer Reports told me to use Google Chrome to access one of their pages on my Mac, because there have been issues with Firefox. When I did use Chrome, the page opened. I was told to use Chrome by someone else, too (Can't remember if it was tech support at Hotmail or somewhere else). Could there be a Firefox issue, that it doesn't work will with some sites, and if that is the case, can it be fixed.
