I've tried everything, but Firefox still defaults to a printer which is disabled instead of the new one. How can I change this?

I have printed to the new HP printer and this works fine, but Firefox persists in keeping the old laserjet as the defualt. I have disabled the old printer in CUPS, reset the printer settings in Firefox and deleted all printer settings from the prefs.js file, but Firefox persists in selecting this old printer first. I don't want to delete it as it was difficult to install and I might want to add it back to my network later.

That would indicate print driver issue or corrupted printer driver/software problem. Most times the O/S controls which is the last printer that was chosen to print this happens in Windows 10 unless you designate it but Windows 10 will notify one not to do this if you try this. So if everything is correct the last printer you used will be the first option the next print.

As noted in the original post, I am using CUPS, a unix/linux print manager, and, what I did not specifically state is that am running Magia 6 Linux currently. I am thinking that removing the old printer all together is what I'm going to have to do, I was hoping for an alternative but really, that isn't that important -- I probably won't ever reconnect the old printer.

Solved by deleting the old printer.

I do not wish to delete the other printer; but to be able to select any one of the two printers. I could previously do this in firefox?
