Add-on compatibility after major upgrades
I would just like to comment about the loss of add-in compatibility as a result of version upgrades of Thunderbird. Obviously, Mozilla doesn't have control over add-ons that are provided by third party developers but it can be REALLY disruptive when Mozilla provides an update that then breaks pretty much EVERY add-on. Provider for Google Calendar, Dorando Key Config, Folder Move and more all got broken by this most recent update. That pretty much destroyed the functionality for me as a user.
Now, it does not appear that Key Config will be coming back and I'd love to know how to customize hotkeys under the new configuration editor - I simply added a Control-D to delete messages as there wasn't a hotkey to perform that action that I was aware of other than the Delete key. With the right hand on the mouse and the left hand already on the keyboard, the Control-D approach was more conducive in my opinion.
Just expressing my frustration at what I feel can be a pretty bumpy road with regards to Mozilla updates.

Here's what works here: download the zip file for 1.7.0pre2, change the zip extension to xpi, drag from Explorer and drop onto Tools/Add-ons/Extensions (or click the gear icon, Install Add-on from file...). The shortcuts are Shift+M, Y or G.

Here are some sources to consider:
Thank you for pointing me at the Quick Folder Move! Unfortunately, the Dorango Key Config is not a working solution at this time. That thread was mainly people trying to force the existing version to work in TB 68.
Hmmm... as it turns out, even the Quick Folder Move is a pre-release and one needs detailed knowledge to install and there are no instructions for installing it. The installation involves copying files directly into your profile and there are a number of subfolders. No idea where to put the files and folders.

Wow! That worked perfectly! Thank you! So, the Provider for Google Calendar has been updated by the developer and is now working; Quick Folder Move is now working thanks to your assistance. Now I just need the Key Config to catch up and I'll be back whole again.
Thank you again for your help!
Also know, Mozilla doesn't developer nor control Thunderbird
Yeah, I didn't know that but the links within TB took me to this forum for support. No way to know differently.
