Firefox in Windows 10 will not play any audio produced from sites on the internet. Firefox internet audio works fine when I boot into Linux. All other browser that I use, Chrome, Opera, Windows (whatever it is called, I rarely use it) present no internet audio problems. Firefox is my default browser in both OSs, but I will have to move to an alternate until I can get this issue resolved. Thanks.

Hi,

Sorry that you're having trouble playing audio in Firefox on Windows.

One possibility is that Firefox is turned down or muted in your Windows Volume Mixer. Confusingly, an individual app's can be muted or turned down, even when the volume everywhere else in Windows is turned up!

Next time you're trying to play audio in Firefox, could you check your Volume Mixer? There are some instructions here: https://www.howtogeek.com/244963/how-to-adjust-the-volume-for-individual-apps-in-windows/

If this isn't the problem, it would be helpful to have a little more detail. When you go to play audio in Firefox, does everything behave normally? Does the website act as though audio is playing - it's just you can't hear anything - or do the controls on the website not work (ie play/pause buttons and progress bars don't work as they should). Does it happen on all websites, or only some?

Thanks!

I have similar problem. In my case, play button started for a second, then automatically stopped again (trying to play this . I tried Firefox Safe Mode with no success. One of cor-el's link said it uses OS' built-in library, but my video player plays m4a file just fine.

I'm on Firefox 76.0.1 (64-bit)

Hi Vayth

The Web Console shows this error message that Firefox doesn't support "video/3gp", so you will have to download the MP3 file or play the file in another player.
