Thank you for your time and offer to help.

I do not understand most of the technical terms that you used.

I opened the links and I also do not understand how this Session History Scrounger for Firefox can help me with my text only zoom problems.

I also do not understand how the other links, to shadow copy, can help solve the same problem.

I wish to enlarge only the text in a web page (leaving the page size unaltered) and not enlarge the whole page (as if it were an image). I like that option as my eye sight is no longer as it was.

Regards,

Tommaso

Sorry, my above reply was meant for another thread.

In what way is "Zoom Text Only" not working ?

Can you attach a screenshot?

Firefox has a Zoom section in Options/Preferences to set the default zoom level for webpages.

  • Options/Preferences -> General -> Language and Appearance -> Zoom

Note that best is to use full page zoom (i.e. not tick this "Zoom Text Only" checkbox) because "Zoom Text Only" only affects the text but this doesn't enlarge the containing element what can cause text overlapping the text below it or text can get cut off.

Again thank you for your time.

Now, when one pinches the screen, to zoom in, the whole website enlarges, including every images, every frame, every menu, etc. It's like enlarging a photo. Of course fonts become larger but part of the text expands beyond the screen and is no longer readable.

Beforehand, when one pinched to zoom in, only the text would enlarge itself, but reformatting itself and remaining within the same frame size so that one could read left to right all the content. All non text items on that webpage would not enlarge and images, frames, menu, etc, would all remain of the same size.

If you read the first link that I posted in my question you may better understand my request for help.
