hello kate,

1) google bookmarks should be exported from your chrome browser into a html file. Then save to the hard drive.

2) when you launch FireFox, go to the Bookmarks menu option, show all, then do an import of the html file above.

3) in regards to making FireFox default browser, you should wait to ensure #2 above works out.
