Is there a setting hidden somewhere where I can force my preferred date format? Why do I have to contend with the dreadful date format when when visiting mozilla.org in english?

Hi!

Since most content is in English and search engines always link to the English version, I usually browse the english version of mozilla pages. But here on support in particular I have to contend with the pathetic date format where you can't tell which is day or month or year. So why can't I find a way to set the date format. Even the majority of tiny websites/forums have an option to specify the date format.

Probably because Mozilla is based in USA. I can't find anything in profile settings. FWIW, the date format I see is MM/DD/YY. On the General page in Firefox Options there is a setting "Use your operating system settings ... dates ..." I haven't used it until now because I dislike my OS settings as well.

It seems to me that mainly concerns what language variant should be loaded, if there are multiple. But in this case I explicitly choose the english site, so this setting doesn't have any relevance.

I am very upset because you change something that work resplendently to something that do not work for me. DO NOT become like google where they want to force you not to have a choice to do the way you have a choice before. I cannot work on my email as well as firefox date format that is way out of line not to have a choice to set it the way I do understand it - You are not presented in USA only but all over the world - so give me back my date format I am working on. If you became like google I will find another email and internet app to use that make it possible for me to set up the way I do work in my date format. I want my choice back please.

You can try the en-GB Firefox version if you prefer the DD/MM/YY format.

Note that thus version doesn't come with a spell check dictionary.
