Why am I suddenly experiencing a drop in volume on YouTube videos accessed via Firefox? It's not a problem when I access them via Safari, so it's not the fault of my sound system.
Have there been any recent changes to Firefox that would affect the sound levels on YouTube videos? (I'm up to date with Firefox, using 94.01.) I use MacOs Catalina, version 10.15.7, on a MacMini 2014 model.
I'm playing YouTube videos that I've played before many times, but now I have to turn my volume up full tilt, where I used to keep it at 'medium.' This situation has NOT happened in Safari, which still gives me full volume on these YouTube videos, so it's not the fault of my sound system. There must be a glitch, perhaps with the latest Firefox update? This has only been happening since I updated a few days ago.
Thank you for any help with this! I prefer Firefox as a browser, and don't want to shift away from it.
Cheers, Jan

Have you checked the volume control at the bottom of the player box?

By the way, this sound drop only seems to apply to YouTube videos, not to videos accessed from other sources, like Facebook, etc. - Jan

Do you mean the little bar that appears next to the mute/unmute icon at the bottom of the video window? Yeah, that seems to do the trick. And I've learned something new. Thanks! Not sure why that got changed in the first place, but hey. It works. :)
