I have been a long term user of Thunderbird. Recently I have had to change my email address from NickBygrave@gmail.com to NicBygrave@gmail.com due to an unauthorised use of the former. Since then I have been unable to get into Thunderbird with the new address. I have played about with Server settings so maybe that's why. Can you please set out what all the Server settings should be? Many thanks for any help. Nicholas Bygrave

Gmail server settings haven't changed, and it's always more reliable to get that from email host. My guess is that you need Oauth authentication on your security setup. Here are the basics:

- change your security authorization to Oauth2 (do this for the incoming server settings and also for the Outgoing (SMTP) server - two places - remove the password entries for the account (remove the entire entries both incoming and outgoing) - that password info is at Tools>Preferences>Privacy&Security - click 'saved passwords' Then click 'show passwords' then highlight the rows with incoming and outgoing gmail servers and click DELete. - check to ensure that TB is set to accept cookies (that setting is just above the Passwords section) - Google will then step you through the authentication process for your PC.
