My original Gmail account on Thunderbird effectively crashed, because Gmail changed their Security working.. . . So I was advised to make a new Gmail account on Thunderbird. . . This works well, so no problem here. . . .

But the old Gmail in Thunderbird does not work, since Gmail changed their security, so now I need to delete the old Thunderbird Gmail account. . . But I can't delete it. . . . I even went deep into Thunderbird and found the old Folder and deleted it, and it is now in my recycle bin. . . But when I reopened Thunderbird, it self created a new but not working Gmail account. .. . When I test that old account I get " Login to server smtp.googlemail.com .... failed ". . . So I need to delete that account in Thunderbird. . . . How can i do this. ? Hugh.Leyton@gmail.com

Login to "smtp.googlemail.com" - that "smtp" indicates the sending ("outgoing server") settings which are separate for each account from the incoming set up. Maybe you just need to remove the setup for that old account for its "outgoing server"?

I have made a new working Gmail account. . . All I need is to remove the old one in Thunderbird, not change any settings . I removed that old folder deep inside Thunderbird, but it remade that non working folder.
