HELP! ALL of my bookmarks have completely disappeared!

more options

ALL of my bookmarks are gone. I am a musician and I store all of my songs in bookmarks. I use a website to create music (beepbox.co/modifications of beepbox), which is why i can only save them in links. So, I obviously use the bookmark feature. This becomes a problem when, for apparently no reason at all, all of my bookmarks disappeared. 4+ years of my music being saved to Firefox is gone. How can I recover them? Please. I've tried resetting Firefox, looking in my mac for files that could lead anywhere- All leading to nothing. The only hope I have is if someone that somehow has access to many bookmarks inside Firefox could find them, and restore them to my profile.

I don't want to lose it all.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your bookmarks in Firefox. As a Firefox support volunteer, I can provide some guidance on how to troubleshoot this problem.

First, it's important to check if your bookmarks are still present in Firefox but not displaying properly. To do this, you can try the following steps:

Open Firefox and click on the Bookmarks menu at the top of the browser window. Select "Show All Bookmarks" to open the Library window. In the Library window, click on "All Bookmarks" in the left sidebar to view all your bookmarks. If you see your bookmarks listed there, but they are not showing up in the bookmark toolbar or folders, you can try organizing them again by dragging and dropping them into the desired locations. If your bookmarks are not visible in the Library window or if you have already checked and they are not there, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

Make sure you are signed in to your Firefox account. Your bookmarks are synced with your Firefox account, so signing in may help restore them. Go to the Firefox menu and select "Help" > "Troubleshooting Information." In the Troubleshooting Information page, click on the "Open Folder" button next to the "Profile Folder" entry. This will open your Firefox profile folder. Quit Firefox completely. In the profile folder, look for a file named "places.sqlite" and make a backup copy of it in a safe location. Delete the "places.sqlite" file from the profile folder. Restart Firefox, and it will create a new "places.sqlite" file. Check if your bookmarks have been restored. If none of these steps work, you can also try using the Firefox Sync feature to restore your bookmarks from a previous sync point. To do this:

Open Firefox and go to the Firefox menu. Select "Options" (Windows) or "Preferences" (Mac). In the options or preferences window, click on "Firefox Account" or "Sync." Click on "Sync Now" to initiate a manual sync and see if your bookmarks are restored. If you are unable to recover your bookmarks using these methods, you can consider reaching out to the official Mozilla support channels for further assistance. They may have additional resources and options to help you recover your lost bookmarks.

I hope this information helps, and please let me know if you have any further questions or need additional assistance.
