Fennec nightly-builds compatibility with addons
Greetings,
is there some option like "extensions.checkCompability" in desktop version?
I used official release (1.0?) for n900. But it is slow and causes malfunction and slowdown for my device.
Now I have nightly build - 2.0a1pre and it's perfect. Good performance and it has great and useful features by default. Button for leaving application temporarily (minimize button, or switch to another app btn) is working much better - without big delay as in 1.x version. Generally this nightly release is very usable. But it misses addons (eg. adblock, youtube enabler, etc) because compability.

I'm sorry, I forget to fill my name again (I used "preview" first). And in plugins there is Shockwave Flash 10.0r45 - it's not true, I posted main post from my desktop machine.
You might want to try version 1.1rc1, which was just released this week and is much newer than version 1.0. It should be compatible with most add-ons already: http://starkravingfinkle.org/blog/2010/06/firefox-for-maemo-1-1-rc-1/
To try untested extensions in nightly builds, type "about:config" in the address bar and create a new boolean preference with name "extensions.checkCompatibility.2.0a" and value "false".
Thank you. I had typo in "extensions.checkCompatibility" string. ^_^
Normally, "extensions.checkCompatibility.2.0a" is what you would use for Fennec 2.0a1pre.
However, the architecture of the Fennec front-end code is changing a lot and I don't expect many add-ons to "just work" in 2.0a1pre.
Yep I know. But I am using only two addons: YouTube Enabler and AdBlock Plus.
AdBlock Plus is working as usual (with my own filters subscription).
YouTube Enabler isn't working properly. It plays audio only (without video and player window on youtube). But there is still zoutube, so this addon isn't important for me as adblock.
