Mistakenly "remembered" a setting and need to change it

I am using the newest version of the Lotus Notes web client in Firefox. When I attempted to send an email, a message came up warning me about the possible security risks and asking if I wanted to let Lotus Notes do the things it objected to.

Since I had declined a similar before with impunity, though not when sending an email, I denied it access and told Firefox to remember this setting.

It did not send the email and now will not send any other emails. I would like to change the setting so that it will ask me again and I can accept this time.

I can send from IE, but I hate to change browsers every time I need to send an email. I'm currently not able to send any.

Hello Nancy.

Was this a setting on Firefox (if so, which setting in particular? What did it ask exactly?) or a setting in Lotus Notes web client?

I don't know whether it's really a setting in Firefox or LN. I didn't change a specific Firefox setting.

My impression that it has to do with Firefox has to do with the fact that I was able use the client to send emails in IE. So, whatever change was made, it doesn't seem to apply across browsers...

By using another computer, I've been able to get a copy of the error message. It still isn't clear to me exactly where it is coming from. It says "Internet Security" at the top. The text reads:

"A script from "International Business Machines Corporation" is requesting enhanced abilities that are UNSAFE and could be used to compromise your machine or data:

Run or install software on your machine

Allow these abilities only if you trust this source to be free of viruses or malicious programs."

It gave me the option to allow or deny.

Sorry I am being so vague and clueless. Thanks for your help.

Try "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the Safe mode start window - See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Resetting_preferences

Thank you, this has solved my problem! I'll be sure to remember it if I run into something similar again.

You're welcome

If it happens again then look in the file prefs.js (prefs.js.sav) in the Firefox Profile Folder to see if there are lines that start with user_pref("capability. in that file. If you see them then you can remove those lines. Use a plain text editor like Notepad to edit the file.
